NO MORE WAR POETS

They who with bombast and cliché
Dishonoured freedom, trashed its laws,
Had neither gall nor wit to say,
"Where are the poets of our cause?"

It is the fibre of free men,
Fit subject for immortal verse -
That we, who've lived by selfish pen,
Could tell the bad from what's much worse.
