ON THE SH.. BENEATH OUR SHOES

Democracy, behold and fear,
What a change of fate is here!
Think how Tony Blair's sure feet
Trod on turds to Downing Street;
Here he squelched with goals and plans,
Who now must watch the moving vans,
Who, in the gutter and despair,
Harangues, "Elections are unfair."

Here's a pavement soiled indeed
By the blindest arrogant seed
That our land did e'er give birth
Since New Labour stalked the earth:
Hear the long-lost voters' cries,
"He promised truth, and gave us lies!"
Here time's sands, like Iraq's plain,
Slip past the ruined PM vain:
Here's his world of pomp and state
Sluiced down the drain by millions' hate.
